Bazı şeyleri sayabiliriz (one, two, three) ve çoğul yaparız: apples, books. Bazı şeyleri sayamayız (su, süt) — bunlar hep tekildir: water, milk. Aynı sepet, iki tür isim:
- There are three apples and two books.Üç elma ve iki kitap var. (sayabilirim = çoğul)
- There is some water and some milk.Biraz su ve biraz süt var. (sayamam = çoğul yok)
- How many apples? How much water?Kaç elma? Ne kadar su?
- Sayabiliyorsan (1, 2, 3) → çoğul yap: apples, books.
- Sayamıyorsan (su, süt, pirinç) → çoğul yok: water, milk, rice.
1. Çoğullar: -s / -es / Düzensiz (Plurals)
Bir şeyden birden fazla varsa çoğul yaparız. Çoğu isme sona -s ekleriz; bazılarına -es; birkaç isim ise düzensizdir:

- Çoğu isim: sona -s ekle. apples, books, dogs.
- box, bus, watch, dish gibi bitişler → -es: boxes, buses.
- Düzensiz: child → children, man → men, foot → feet.
2. Sayılabilir / Sayılamaz (Countable / Uncountable)
Bazı isimleri sayabiliriz (one, two, three) — bunlara countable deriz. Bazılarını sayamayız (su, süt) — bunlara uncountable deriz:

- Countable: sayı ile kullan → three apples. Çoğulu var.
- Uncountable: sayı yok, çoğul yok → some water (❌ two waters).
3. some / any (Biraz / Hiç)
some = biraz (olumlu cümlelerde). any = hiç (olumsuz cümlelerde ve sorularda). İkisi hem sayılabilir hem sayılamaz isimlerle kullanılır:

- Olumlu cümle → some: I have some juice.

4. much / many / a lot of (Ne kadar / Kaç tane)
Miktar sormak için: many sayılabilirle, much sayılamazla. a lot of ise ikisiyle de kullanılır ve "çok" demektir:

- Sayabiliyorsan → many: many apples, many books.
- Sayamıyorsan → much: much water, much milk.
- "Çok" demek için ikisinde de → a lot of.
5. Sık Yapılan Hatalar (Doğru ✓ / Yanlış ✗)
İsimleri ve miktarları karıştırmak kolaydır. Doğru biçimi seç:

- Sayı + isim → çoğul (-s). Sayılamaz isim → çoğul yok, much kullan.
6. In the Kitchen (Mini Diyalog)
İki çocuk mutfaktaki şeyleri konuşuyor. Koyu kelimelere dikkat et ve iki kez oku:
- — How many apples are there? — There are three apples.— Kaç elma var? — Üç elma var.
- — Is there any milk? — No, there isn't any milk.— Hiç süt var mı? — Hayır, hiç süt yok.
- — How much water do you want? — Just some water, please.— Ne kadar su istersin? — Sadece biraz su, lütfen.
- — I have a lot of cookies! — And I have two boxes of juice.— Çok kurabiyem var! — Bende de iki kutu meyve suyu var.
- "three apple" ✗ → "three apples" ✓ (sayı + çoğul).
- "many water" ✗ → "much water" ✓ (sayılamaz → much).
- "some milks" ✗ → "some milk" ✓ (sayılamaz → çoğul yok).

Hi! I am Ada. Today we are going to the park for a picnic. Look in my basket! There are three apples and two big sandwiches. There are also some cookies — I think there are six cookies!
I love picnics with my family. In my bag there are two red apples and one green apple. I have a small yellow blanket and a big blue plate. My mum makes nice sandwiches with cheese and tomato. There is some soft bread too. Everyone is hungry and happy today!
I have some water and some orange juice. But there isn't any milk. Emir wants milk, so he is a little sad. "How many bananas do we have?" asks Emir. "We have two bananas," I say.

The park is big and green. There are a lot of children here. Two boys play with a ball. The children run and jump. I can see three dogs and one small cat. The cat is funny!
