Bir şeyi çok ama çok seversen, o senin "favourite"indir — yani en sevdiğin. Bir renk, bir hayvan ya da bir yiyecek olabilir. Mesela:
- "My favourite colour is blue."En sevdiğim renk mavi. (renk)
- "My favourite animal is a cat."En sevdiğim hayvan kedi. (hayvan)
- "My favourite food is pizza."En sevdiğim yemek pizza. (yiyecek)
Bir şeyden hoşlanırsan "like" (severim) deriz. Hoşlanmazsan "don't like" (sevmem):
- "I like ice cream."Dondurmayı severim.
- "I don't like onions."Soğanı sevmem.
- "She likes dogs."O köpekleri sever.

1. "My favourite ... is ..." (En sevdiğim ...)
En sevdiğin bir şeyi söylemek çok kolay. Şu kalıbı kullan: My favourite + şey + is + cevap.

- Tek bir şey için is kullan: My favourite colour is red.

- is'i unutma! "My favourite colour blue." ✗ → "My favourite colour is blue." ✓
2. "I like ..." (Severim)
Sevdiğin şeyleri söylemek için like kullanırız. I / you / we / they ile like; ama he / she / it ile sonuna -s ekleriz: likes.

- he / she / it (tek kişi/şey) → likes (sonuna küçük bir s).
- Genel bir şeyi severken çoğul kullan: I like cats. (bütün kediler)
3. "Sevmem" Demek: don't like (Negative)
Bir şeyi sevmediğini söylemek için don't like kullanırız. He / she / it için doesn't like deriz.

- doesn't'ten sonra fiile -s ekleme: "She doesn't likes." ✗ → "She doesn't like." ✓
4. Soru Sormak (Questions)
Favori bir şeyi sormak için What is your favourite ...? deriz. Bir şeyi sevip sevmediğini sormak için Do you like ...? kullanırız.
- What is your favourite colour? → My favourite colour is red.En sevdiğin renk ne? → En sevdiğim renk kırmızı.
- Do you like pizza? → Yes, I do!Pizzayı sever misin? → Evet, severim!
Kısa cevaplar çok kolaydır:
