"there is / there are" Nedir? (What is it?)

Bir yerde bir şeyin "var" olduğunu söylemek için there is ya da there are kullanırız. Kasabamızda gezerken çok işimize yarar:

"There is a park."Bir park var. (tek şey)
"There is a big school."Büyük bir okul var. (tek şey)
"There are two shops."İki dükkan var. (çok şey)
"There are many trees."Birçok ağaç var. (çok şey)

Kural çok kolay: bir tane şey varsa there is, birden çok şey varsa there are deriz. Hadi öğrenelim!

1. Mekan Kelimeleri (Places)

Kasabamızda birçok mekan var. Metinde bunları arayacağız:

Dikkat!

Tek şey için a kullan: a school, a park, a café.
Çok şey için -s ekle: two shops, three trees.

2. Doğru Formu Seç: is / are

Kural çok kolay ve hiç değişmez. Sadece iki grup var:

2+ (çok)	there are	—	There are two cafés.	İki kafe var.

Kolay yol

Tek şey (a school, a park) → there is.
Çok şey (two shops, three trees) → there are.
Konuşurken kısa form kullanırız: "there is" yerine "there's".

3. "yok" Demek: not (Negative)

Bir şey "yok" demek için not ekleriz. Çok kolay!

Tek şey yoksa there isn't, çok şey yoksa there aren't.

4. Soru Sormak (Questions)

Soru sormak için is ya da are öne geçer. Türkçedeki "var mı?" sorusunu bu yapar:

There are shops. → Are there any shops?Dükkanlar var. → Hiç dükkan var mı?

5. Yer Edatları (Prepositions of Place)

Bir şeyin nerede olduğunu söylemek için yer edatları kullanırız:

6. Birlikte Görelim (In My Town)

İki çocuk kasabalarından bahsediyor. Koyu yazılan kelimelere dikkat et ve iki kez oku:

My Town

Hello! My name is Nil. This is my town. It is small, but it is very nice. There are many places in my town.

I love my little town very much. It is not big, but it is full of life. The streets are clean and quiet, and there are green trees on every street. Everyone knows everyone here. The people are friendly and kind to each other. Let me show you all my favourite places in the town!

In the middle of the town, there is a big green park. There are many trees in the park, and there is a small lake. Children play here every day. Next to the park, there is my school. It is big and yellow. There are twenty children in my class. I like my school.

The park is the heart of my town. In the park, there is a small lake with white ducks. Children run and play near the lake all day. There are pretty flowers around the park too.
