Bu ünitede iki şey öğreniyoruz. Birincisi odalar (rooms): evimizin bölümleri. İkincisi there is / there are: bir odada ne olduğunu ve nerede olduğunu söyleriz:
- There is a bed in the bedroom.Yatak odasında bir yatak var. (bir tane)
- There are two chairs in the kitchen.Mutfakta iki sandalye var. (birçok)
- The cat is on the sofa.Kedi kanepenin üstünde. (yer edatı)
- Bir tane için → There is. Birden çok için → There are.
- Odalar: bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, living room, garden.
- Yer edatları: in (içinde), on (üstünde), under (altında), next to (yanında), behind (arkasında).
1. Rooms (Odalar)
Bir evde farklı odalar vardır. Her odanın bir işi vardır:

- Uyku → bedroom. Yemek → kitchen. Yıkanma → bathroom.
- Bahçe evin dışındadır (garden). Salon oturma odasıdır (living room).
2. There is / There are (... var)
Bir odada bir şeyin olduğunu söylemek için There is (bir tane) ya da There are (birçok) kullanırız:

- a / an (bir tane) → There is. Sayı ya da çoğul → There are.

3. is / are (Tekil / Çoğul)
Bir eşya için is, birçok eşya için are kullanırız. Tek → is, çok → are:

- Bir tane → is. Birden çok → are.
- "There is two beds" ✗ → "There are two beds" ✓.
4. Where? (Yer Edatları)
Bir eşyanın nerede olduğunu söylemek için yer edatları kullanırız:

- Kutunun içi → in. Üstü → on. Altı → under.
- Yan yana → next to. Arkada → behind.
5. Is there? / There isn't (Soru ve Olumsuz)
Soru sormak için Is there / Are there, "yok" demek için There isn't / There aren't deriz:

- Bir tane → There is. Birden çok → There are. Yer için in / on / under / next to / behind kullan.
6. In My House (Mini Diyalog)
İki arkadaş evi geziyor. Koyu kelimelere dikkat et ve iki kez oku:
- — There is a big sofa in the living room.— Salonda büyük bir kanepe var.
- — Are there chairs in the kitchen? — Yes, there are four chairs.— Mutfakta sandalye var mı? — Evet, dört sandalye var.
- — The cat is on the bed, and the ball is under it.— Kedi yatağın üstünde, top da altında.
- — Is there a garden? — Yes! It is behind the house.— Bahçe var mı? — Evet! Evin arkasında.
- "There are a bed" ✗ → "There is a bed" ✓ (bir tane → is).
- "There is two chairs" ✗ → "There are two chairs" ✓ (çoğul → are).
- "The cat is in the bed" ≠ "on the bed" (üstünde → on).

Hello! I am Leo. I am eight. This is my house. It is not big, but it is nice. There are five rooms in my house: a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom, and two bedrooms. There is a small garden, too.
My family is small. There is my mother, my father, and me. And of course there is Milo, my cat! Our house has a green door and clean white walls. I like it very much. Come inside with me, and I will show you every room.
The living room is my favourite room. There is a big blue sofa and a TV. My cat, Milo, sleeps on the sofa. There are two lamps next to the sofa.
We watch films in the living room in the evening. My father sits on the sofa with me, and Milo sits on my legs. There is a soft grey carpet on the floor. On the wall, there are three photos of my family. The room is warm and cosy at night.
The kitchen is next to the living room. There is a table in the kitchen. There are four chairs around the table. We eat breakfast here every morning. There is a red clock on the wall.
My mother cooks nice food in the kitchen. There is a big window here, and the morning sun comes in. There are yellow curtains on the window. We keep apples and oranges in a bowl on the table. The kitchen always smells good and fresh.
My bedroom is small. There is a bed, and there is a desk under the window. My books are on the desk. My toys are in a box under the bed. The box is blue and yellow.
I like my bedroom because it is quiet. There is a small green lamp next to my bed. At night I read one book, and then I sleep. On the wall, there is a poster of a big blue whale. My schoolbag is behind the door, ready for the morning.
Outside, my street is quiet and green. My best friend Sam lives next door. Sometimes he comes to my house, and we play games in my room. Then we run outside together. It is a nice place to live.
In the evening, my family sits together in the living room. My mother makes tea, and my father tells us about his day. Milo purrs on the sofa next to me. Outside, it is dark, but inside it is bright and warm. I feel happy and safe in my home. This is why I love my house so much.
The bathroom is white and clean. There is a big mirror on the wall. The garden is behind the house. There are many flowers and one big tree in the garden. Milo plays there. I love my house! Do you like your house? Come and see mine!
