Günler ve Aylar Nedir? (Days and Months)

Bir haftada 7 gün vardır. Bir yılda 12 ay vardır. İngilizcede günler ve aylar hep büyük harfle başlar:

"Today is Monday."Bugün Pazartesi.
"My birthday is in May."Doğum günüm Mayıs'ta.
"There are seven days in a week."Bir haftada yedi gün var.
"There are twelve months in a year."Bir yılda on iki ay var.

Dikkat!

Gün ve ay isimleri her zaman büyük harfle başlar: Monday ✓ (monday ✗), June ✓ (june ✗).

1. Haftanın Günleri (Days of the Week)

Haftada yedi gün vardır. İşte hepsi, sırayla:

Kolay yol

2. Yılın Ayları (Months of the Year)

Bir yılda on iki ay vardır. Her ay bir mevsime aittir:

January ilk aydır → the first month (birinci).

3. When is your birthday? (Doğum Günün Ne Zaman?)

Doğum gününü sormak için When is your birthday? deriz. Cevap verirken is ve ayla birlikte in kullanırız:

— It is in May. / My birthday is in May.Mayıs'ta. / Doğum günüm Mayıs'ta.

Dikkat!

Aylarla her zaman in: "in May" ✓ (at May ✗, on May ✗).
Cümlede is kullan: "My birthday is in July." ✓ (My birthday are ✗).

4. Sık Yapılan Hatalar (Common Mistakes)

My Week and My Birthday

Hello! My name is Elif. There are seven days in a week. My favourite day is Saturday. On Saturday, there is no school! I play in the park with my friends. Sunday is also fun, because my family and I are together at home. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are school days. I like school days too, but Saturday is the best!

Every day of the week is special for me. On Monday, I have my English lesson at school. On Tuesday, I play with my cat at home. On Wednesday, I paint colourful pictures. On Thursday and Friday, I do my homework after school. But I wait all week for Saturday! On Saturday, I am free and I feel very happy. Sunday is a calm family day at home.

There are twelve months in a year. January is the first month, and December is the last month. My favourite month is May. Why? My birthday is in May! I am ten years old. My birthday is on a Saturday this year. That is my lucky day!

There are twelve months in a year, and each one is different. The first month is January, and it is very cold. The spring months are March, April and May. The summer months are June, July and August. My birthday is in May, in the warm spring. I love May because the flowers are beautiful. On my birthday, I am ten years old!
