"be" Nedir? (What is "be"?)

İngilizcede kendimizden ve çevremizdeki kişilerden bahsederken "be" fiilini çok sık kullanırız. Mesela:

"I am Ayla."Ben Ayla'yım. (isim)
"I am nine."Dokuz yaşındayım. (yaş)
"This is my cat."Bu benim kedim. (aile / evcil hayvan)
"My friends are here."Arkadaşlarım burada. (arkadaşlar)
"I am happy!"Mutluyum! (duygu)

İngilizcede "be" fiili cümlede am, is veya are olarak karşımıza çıkar:

"I am happy."Mutluyum.
"She is happy."O mutlu.
"We are happy."Biz mutluyuz.

Hangi kelimeyle am, is veya are kullanacağımızı şimdi birlikte öğreneceğiz!

1. Kişi Kelimeleri (Subject Pronouns)

Bir cümlede "kim?" sorusunun cevabı özne kelimesidir. İşte İngilizcedeki yedi kişi kelimesi:

it	o (hayvan, eşya)	Kedi, top, oyuncak: "This is my ball. It is red."
we	biz	Sen + başkaları: "My friends and I? We are happy."
they	onlar	Birden çok kişi ya da eşya: "They are my toys."

Dikkat!

Türkçedeki tek "o", İngilizcede üçe ayrılır: he (erkek), she (kız), it (hayvan/eşya).
Bir arkadaşın için "it" deme: "My friend? It is nice." ✗ → "She is nice." ✓

2. Doğru Formu Seç: am / is / are

Kural çok kolay ve hiç değişmez. Sadece üç grup var:

Kolay yol

I → am. Sadece "I" ile "am" kullanılır.
he / she / it (tek kişi/şey) → is.
you / we / they (birden çok) → are.
Konuşurken kısa form kullanırız: "I am" yerine "I'm", "she is" yerine "she's".

3. "değil" Demek: not (Negative)

Bir şey "değil" demek için be'den sonra not ekleriz. Çok kolay!

He / She / It is not	isn't	It isn't big.	O büyük değil.
You / We / They are not	aren't	They aren't here.	Onlar burada değil.

Not

"I" için sadece "I'm not" vardır. "I amn't" diye bir şey yoktur. ✗

4. Soru Sormak (Questions)

Soru sormak için be fiili öznenin önüne geçer. Türkçedeki "mi" ekinin işini bu yapar:

You are happy. → Are you happy?Mutlusun. → Mutlu musun?
He is your friend. → Is he your friend?O senin arkadaşın. → O senin arkadaşın mı?

Kısa cevaplar da kolaydır:

Dikkat!

Evet cevabında kısaltma yapma: "Yes, I'm." ✗ → "Yes, I am." ✓
Soru kelimeleriyle de aynı sıra: "What is your name?", "How old are you?"

5. Sık Yapılan Hatalar (Common Mistakes)

Bu tabloyu kontrol listen yap. Kendi cümlelerini yazarken bu hataları yapma:

6. Birlikte Görelim (Two Friends Meet)

İki çocuk parkta tanışıyor. Koyu yazılan "be" kelimelerine dikkat et ve iki kez oku:

All About Lila

My city is Antalya. It is big and sunny. The sea is near my home, and it is very blue. My house is not big, but it is warm and nice. My room is my favourite room. My books and my toys are here. On the wall there is a picture of my family. In the picture we are all happy. Antalya has many parks and a big beach. In summer it is hot, and the sun is always out. I like my city very much.
