Partide neyin olduğunu söylemek için iki sihirli cümle kullanırız. Bir tane için There is, birden çok için There are. Herkesin şu anda ne yaptığını söylemek için de fiile -ing ekleriz:
- There is a big cake on the table.Masada büyük bir pasta var. (bir tane → there is)
- There are ten balloons in the room.Odada on balon var. (çok tane → there are)
- The children are dancing. We are happy!Çocuklar dans ediyor. Biz mutluyuz!
- Bir tane şey → There is a cake, a candle.
- Çok tane şey → There are balloons, presents.
1. There is / There are (Bir tane / Çok tane)
Partide bir şey varsa There is, birden çok şey varsa There are deriz. There are ile isim çoğul olur (sona -s):

2. Parti Kelimeleri (Party Words)
Bir doğum günü partisinde birçok şey vardır. İşte parti kelimeleri — biri (tekil) ve çoğu (çoğul):

- Bir tane → a cake, a candle (there is).
- Çok tane → candles, balloons — sona -s ekle (there are).
3. Şu Anda Ne Yapıyor? (Present Continuous)
Partide herkes bir şey yapıyor. Şu anda yapılan işi söylemek için am / is / are + fiile -ing ekleriz:

- I → am: I am playing.

4. Parti Fiilleri (Party Verbs)
Partide yapılan işler için fiile -ing ekleriz. İşte en sevdiğimiz parti fiilleri:

- Fiilin sonuna -ing ekle: play → playing, eat → eating.
- dance gibi -e ile bitenlerde e düşer → dancing.
5. Sık Yapılan Hatalar (Doğru ✓ / Yanlış ✗)
There is / there are ve fiilleri karıştırmak kolaydır. Doğru biçimi seç:

- Bir tane → there is. Çok tane → there are + çoğul. We/They → are + fiil-ing.
6. At the Party (Mini Diyalog)
İki arkadaş partide konuşuyor. Koyu kelimelere dikkat et ve iki kez oku:
- — Is there a cake? — Yes, there is a big chocolate cake!— Pasta var mı? — Evet, büyük bir çikolatalı pasta var!
- — How many candles are there? — There are seven candles.— Kaç mum var? — Yedi mum var.
- — What is Mia doing? — She is blowing the candles.— Mia ne yapıyor? — Mumları üflüyor.

- "There is ten balloons" ✗ → "There are ten balloons" ✓ (çok tane).

Okurken there is / there are cümlelerini ve -ing fiillerini bul. Bunlar partide ne olduğunu ve herkesin ne yaptığını söyler:

Today is Mia's birthday! She is seven years old. There is a big party at her house. Look! There is a large chocolate cake on the table. There are seven candles on the cake. There are lots of red and blue balloons in the room. There are many presents too!
Mia's house looks beautiful today. There are colourful balloons on the walls and on the door. There is a long table with plates and cups. There is a big sign that says "Happy Birthday, Mia!" Everyone is excited. It is going to be a wonderful afternoon.
All Mia's friends are here. They are happy. The children are wearing colourful party hats. Tom is playing a fun game near the window. Two girls are dancing to the music. The music is loud and happy. Mia's mum is bringing juice and cookies for everyone.
More friends are coming to the door with presents in their hands. "Happy birthday!" they say. Everybody is smiling and laughing. Near the sofa, a boy is taking photos of the party. In the corner, Mia's grandma is clapping to the music. The room is full of happy sounds.
Now it is time for the cake. Everyone is singing "Happy Birthday". Mia is blowing out the candles. Her friends are clapping and laughing. "Make a wish!" says her dad.
Everyone counts the candles: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven! Mia takes a big breath and blows. Whoosh! All seven candles go out, and everyone claps. "Happy birthday!" they shout again. Mia closes her eyes and makes a secret wish. Then she smiles.
After the cake, Mia is opening her presents. There is a new doll and there are two books. There is a small toy car from Tom. Mia is very happy. "Thank you, my friends!" she says.
Mia loves all her presents. The soft doll has yellow hair and a pink dress. The two books are about animals and stars. But her favourite gift is the small red toy car from Tom. "It is so cool!" she says. She gives Tom a big thank-you hug.
The party room is full of colour and noise. Some children are singing, and some are laughing loudly. A funny clown makes balloon animals for everyone. He gives Mia a pink balloon dog. Mia laughs and says, "Thank you!" All her friends think it is the best birthday party ever.
Now it is time for games and fun. The children are wearing their party hats, and the hats have gold stars on them. Mia's mum brings more juice and a plate of cookies. The music is playing, and everyone wants to dance. Mia is the happiest girl in the world today.
The children are eating cake and drinking juice. Some children are playing with the red and blue balloons. It is a wonderful party. Everyone is laughing and smiling. Mia is dancing with her best friend. What a happy day!
