Present Simple Nedir? (What is Present Simple?)

Her gün yaptığımız işleri, alışkanlıklarımızı ve sevdiğimiz şeyleri anlatmak için Present Simple (Geniş Zaman) kullanırız. Mesela:

"I go to school."Okula giderim. (her gün)
"We play games."Oyun oynarız. (alışkanlık)
"They like ice cream."Onlar dondurma sever. (sevmek)
"I have a pet."Bir evcil hayvanım var.
"You read books."Kitap okursun.

Bu ünitede sadece I, you, we, they ile çalışacağız. Bunlarla fiil çoğu zaman olduğu gibi kalır:

"I play." · "You play." · "We play." · "They play."Oynarım · Oynarsın · Oynarız · Oynarlar.

Dikkat!

he / she / it (o) biraz farklıdır — onu Ünite 4'te öğreneceğiz. Şimdilik sadece I, you, we, they.

1. Fiil Aynı Kalır (The Verb Stays the Same)

I, you, we ya da they ile fiile hiçbir şey eklemeyiz. Fiil hep aynı kalır:

Kolay yol

I / you / we / they → fiile hiç -s eklemeyiz. Fiil sade kalır: play, go, like, have.
"I have a dog." (a dog = bir köpeğim var). "have" hep sade — "got" eklemeyiz.

2. "yapmam / yapmayız" Demek: don't (Negative)

Bir şeyi yapmadığımızı söylemek için fiilden önce don't (do not) koyarız. Fiil yine sade kalır:

Not

don't = do not. don't'tan sonra fiil sade kalır: "I don't like" ✓ (I don't likes ✗).

3. Soru Sormak: Do...? (Questions)

Soru sormak için cümlenin başına Do koyarız. Türkçedeki "mi / mısın" ekinin işini bu yapar:

You like cats. → Do you like cats?Kedileri seversin. → Kedileri sever misin?
They play football. → Do they play football?Futbol oynarlar. → Futbol oynarlar mı?

Kısa cevaplar da kolaydır:

Dikkat!

Do'dan sonra fiil sade kalır: "Do you like...?" ✓ (Do you likes ✗).

4. Sık Yapılan Hatalar (Common Mistakes)

Bu tabloyu kontrol listen yap. Kendi cümlelerini yazarken bu hataları yapma:

5. Birlikte Görelim (Two Friends Talk)

İki çocuk evcil hayvanlar ve oyunlar hakkında konuşuyor. Koyu yazılan kelimelere dikkat et ve iki kez oku:

— Do you have a pet?Bir evcil hayvanın var mı?
— Yes, I do! I have a dog. Do you like dogs?Evet! Bir köpeğim var. Köpekleri sever misin?
— I like dogs, but I don't have a pet. I have many toys.Köpekleri severim ama evcil hayvanım yok. Çok oyuncağım var.
— We play together every day. What do you play?Her gün birlikte oynarız. Ne oynarsın?

Poyraz and His Pets

Hi! My name is Poyraz. I am nine years old. I have two pets — a dog and a rabbit. My dog is big and my rabbit is small. Every day I feed them. They like carrots and they eat a lot! My dog and my rabbit are my good friends.

My dog is brown and my rabbit is white. Every morning I open the door and my two pets run to me. I clean their little home and I give them fresh water every day. My rabbit is soft and my dog is friendly. I hug them and they are happy. We play together in the garden every day.

In the morning I go to school. My friends go to school too. We like our teacher, but we don't like homework. School is fun!

My school is big and my classroom is green. I have many friends there. We read, we write and we draw pictures of animals. My favourite colour is blue. At lunch time we eat together and we talk. My best friend is kind and we walk home every day.

My pets are my best friends and I take care of them every day. In the morning I open their box and I say good morning to them. My dog jumps and my rabbit hops around my feet. I fill their bowl and they eat. On sunny days we go outside and we run on the grass together. My friends have pets too. My friend Ali has a bird and my friend Ece has a fish. We love our animals and we talk about them at school every day.

After school, my friends and I play together. We play games and we run in the park. Sometimes we jump and we laugh. We are happy in the park. I have many toys. I like my red ball and my toy car. I don't like my old kite.

On the weekend I don't go to school. I stay at home and I help my mum and dad. My friends come to my house and we watch cartoons together. My red ball and my toy car are in my room. Sometimes we draw and we sing happy songs. We are never sad on the weekend.

At home, my family and I have dinner. We eat and we talk every day. My mum and dad like tea, but I don't like tea. I like milk and apples.

After dinner, my family and I wash the plates together. My mum and dad tell funny stories and we laugh a lot. Then I brush my teeth and I put on my pyjamas. My dog and my rabbit are tired too. They yawn and they close their eyes. Our home is warm and cosy at night.
