Bir yerde ne olduğunu söylemek için "there is / there are" kullanırız. Tek şey için There is, çok şey için There are:
- There is a tree.Bir ağaç var. (tek — is)
- There are flowers.Çiçekler var. (çok — are)
- Is there a bird? — Yes, there is.Bir kuş var mı? — Evet, var. (soru)
- Tek şey (a tree, a bird) → There is.
- Çok şey (flowers, bees) → There are.
- Soru için is/are öne gelir: Is there...? / Are there...?
1. There is (Tek Şey Var)
Bahçede bir şey varsa There is deriz. Sonra çoğu zaman a / an gelir:

2. There are (Çok Şey Var)
Bahçede birçok şey varsa There are deriz. İsim çoğuldur (sonunda -s):

3. Is there? / Are there? (Soru)
Soru sorarken is/are öne gelir. Cevap da kısadır:

- Tek şey → Is there a...? Çok şey → Are there ...s?

4. There isn't / aren't (Yok)
Bir şey yoksa "isn't" ya da "aren't" kullanırız:

- Tek yok → There isn't a bee.

5. Nature Words (Doğa Kelimeleri)
Bahçede gördüğümüz doğa kelimeleri. Bunları "there is / there are" ile kullan:

İki arkadaş bahçeye bakıyor. Koyu kelimelere dikkat et ve iki kez oku:

Hello! I am Mia. I am eight. This is my garden. It is behind my house. My garden is green and pretty. Come and look with me!
My garden is not very big, but it is full of life. There is a small green gate at the side. When I open the gate, I can smell the flowers. Birds and bees like my garden, and so do I. It is my favourite place in the whole world.
There is a big tree in my garden. The tree is tall and green. There is a bird in the tree. It sings every morning. There is a nest too, with three small eggs.

My cat's name is Pamuk. He is white and soft. He sits on the warm grass and he closes his eyes. Above us, the big warm sun shines in the blue sky. The white clouds move slowly, like sheep in the sky. It is a lovely day in my garden.
In summer, my garden is the best place to be. The little bird sings in the morning, and the bees say buzz all day long. I give water to the flowers and I watch them grow. My cat plays on the soft green grass in the sun. There is always something new and pretty to see in my little garden.
There isn't a pond in my garden, but there is a little wooden bench. I like to sit there in the afternoon. It is quiet and calm. I water my flowers with a small blue can, and I watch the birds fly. My garden makes me very happy.
