Yiyecek ve içeceklerden konuşurken some (biraz/bazı) ve any (hiç) kullanırız. some olumlu cümlede, any olumsuz cümlede ve soruda gelir:
- There is some milk.Biraz süt var. (olumlu → some)
- There aren't any apples.Hiç elma yok. (olumsuz → any)
- Is there any water?Hiç su var mı? (soru → any)
- Olumlu cümle → some (There is some bread.).
- Olumsuz ve soru → any (There isn't any milk. / Is there any tea?).
- Yiyecekler: apple (elma), milk (süt), bread (ekmek), egg (yumurta), water (su), cake (kek).
1. some (Biraz / Bazı)
some "biraz" ya da "bazı" demektir. Olumlu cümlelerde bir şeyin var olduğunu söylerken kullanırız:

- Bir şey var / bir şey istiyorum → some.
- "There is some water." "I want some cake."
2. any (Hiç)
any "hiç" demektir. Olumsuz cümlelerde ve sorularda kullanırız:

- Bir şey yok ya da soru → any.
- "There isn't any milk." "Are there any apples?"
3. some mi, any mi? (Özet Tablo)
Ne zaman some, ne zaman any? İşte kolay tablo. Cümleye bak:

- Olumlu → some. Olumsuz ve soru → any.
- "There aren't some apples" ✗ → "There aren't any apples" ✓.
4. I want (İstiyorum) + a / an
Bir şey istemek için I want deriz. Sayılabilen tek bir yiyecek için a ya da an kullanırız. Kelime sesli harfle başlıyorsa (a, e, i, o, u) → an:

- Tek sayılabilen yiyecek → a / an (an egg, a cake).
- Süt, su gibi sayılmayan şeyler → some (some milk, some water).
5. I like / Do you like ...? (Severim + Soru)
Bir yiyeceği sevdiğini söylemek için I like deriz. Soru sormak için başa Do gelir. Kısa cevap da kolay:

- Olumlu → some; olumsuz/soru → any. İstemek için I want (a/an/some). Sevmek için I like, soruda başa Do you like ...? gelir.
6. At the Table (Mini Diyalog)
Anne ve çocuk sofrada yemek hakkında konuşuyor. Koyu kelimelere dikkat et ve iki kez oku:
- — Do you like eggs? — Yes, I do! I want an egg, please.— Yumurta sever misin? — Evet! Bir yumurta istiyorum lütfen.
- — There is some bread. — Yummy! I want some bread too.— Biraz ekmek var. — Nefis! Ben de biraz ekmek istiyorum.
- — Are there any apples? — No, there aren't any apples today.— Hiç elma var mı? — Hayır, bugün hiç elma yok.
- — I want some water. It is hot!— Biraz su istiyorum. Hava sıcak!
- "There aren't some eggs" ✗ → "There aren't any eggs" ✓ (olumsuz → any).
- "I want a apple" ✗ → "I want an apple" ✓ (sesli harf → an).
- "Do you likes cake?" ✗ → "Do you like cake?" ✓.

Hello! I am Sam. Today is a sunny day. My family is in the park. We have a picnic on a big blanket. There is some food on the blanket. I am very happy!
The park is big and green, and there are many tall trees. The sun is warm and the sky is blue. It is a perfect day for a picnic. My mum and my dad are here with me. My sister and my little brother Tom are here too. We are a happy family. We are all together, and everyone is happy and smiling.
There is some bread and some cheese. There are some apples too. The apples are red and green. I like apples very much! I want an apple, please. My sister wants an egg. She likes eggs.
My sister sits next to me on the blanket. She has her egg, and she is very happy. I eat my red apple, and it is sweet and crunchy. Apples are my favourite fruit in the world! My mum eats some bread and some cheese. My dad drinks some milk. We all enjoy our good food in the park.
There is some milk in the bottle. There is some water too. I want some water because it is hot. Mum says, "Do you want some cake?" Yes! I like cake a lot. The cake is big and yellow.
It is a hot day, so I drink some water. The water is cold and nice, and now I am not thirsty. The big yellow cake smells so good! Mum cuts the cake for everyone at the picnic. I eat a small piece slowly. It is soft and sweet. It is the best cake I know!
There aren't any oranges today. There isn't any tea. But that is okay! We have many good things. My little brother Tom is funny. "Do you like eggs?" I ask. "No, I don't!" he says. He wants some bread and jam.
Tom is only four years old. He is small and very funny. He does not like eggs, but he loves bread and jam. He eats his bread and he laughs at us. After the food, we play a fun ball game. Tom runs after the ball, and my sister and I play too. We have so much fun in the park!
Near our blanket, there is a small lake. Some ducks swim on the water, and they are white and grey. There are pretty flowers around us. They are pink and purple. A butterfly flies over my head, and I laugh. Nature is beautiful in the park, and I love this warm, sunny day.
We eat and we play. The birds want some bread too! I give them some bread. There are three birds on the grass. I love our picnic. Do you like picnics? What food do you like? Come and eat with us!
