Ünite 8'de Present Perfect ile hayat deneyimlerini konuştun (Have you ever...?, I have never...). Now we use the same tense for a different idea: duration (süre). Bir durum geçmişte başladı ve hâlâ devam ediyor — işte bunu Present Perfect ile, çoğu zaman for ve since kelimeleriyle anlatırız.
Dikkat: Türkçede bu cümleleri geniş zamanla ("yaşıyorum", "çalışıyor") çeviririz, ama İngilizcede Present Perfect gerekir. Bu bölümde önce yapıyı hatırlayacağız, sonra for ile since arasındaki farkı ve Present Perfect ile Past Simple arasındaki kritik farkı netleştireceğiz.
Present Perfect'in yapısı Ünite 8'deki gibidir, so this is just a quick bridge. have / has + fiilin 3. hâli (past participle, V3).

The Green Stars is a small football club with a big heart, and its story is full of hard-working young players. Some children stay for only one season, but a few grow up with the team and never leave. Selin is one of those special players, and her journey is a favourite story at the club.
The Green Stars have won many trophies over the years, and photos of old teams cover the club walls. Selin has looked at those photos many times, and she has dreamed of adding her own. The club has always felt like a big, happy family to her, and she has given it her very best.
Selin has played for the Green Stars for six years. She joined the club in 2019, just after she started at a new school. In her first year, she played in the beginners' group, but she didn't stay there for long, because her coaches quickly saw her skills.
Since 2021, Selin has been the team captain. She has played in many big matches, and she has practised hard to learn new skills. Last spring, she won a very difficult final against a strong team from Ankara, and everyone was very happy with her.
As captain, Selin has done much more than play. She has welcomed new players, and she has helped them feel part of the team. Since 2021, she has organised many practices, and she has never missed an important game. Her coaches have often said that she has become a real leader.
'I have known my teammates for a long time,' Selin says. 'We have played together since the beginning, so we are like a family. We lost some hard games in the past, but we always helped each other, and now we trust each other completely.'
Selin has changed a lot since her first day. Six years ago, she was a shy little girl with little experience. Now she is a confident captain, and she has not thought about leaving the club. Her younger teammates have often asked her for advice, because she has learned so much about the game over the years.
The younger players look up to her every day. They have watched how she stays calm, and they have copied her hard work. "Selin has taught us that practice is the secret," one of them said. "She has been here for years, so she knows the game better than anyone."
Recently, the club gave Selin a gold medal. 'I have wanted this for years,' she says with a big smile. 'This club has been like a home since 2019. When I started, I only hoped to play for a year or two, but I have found a real team here.'
Today, the gold medal sits on a shelf in Selin's room, next to her old team photos. It reminds her of every match, every friend, and every year with the Green Stars. She has grown up with this club, and she hopes to keep playing for many more happy seasons.
