Geçmiş zamanda düzenli fiiller sona -ed alır: play → played, work → worked. Ama en sık kullandığımız fiiller düzensizdir: biçimleri tamamen değişir ve bir kuralı yoktur. Bu yeni biçimleri ezberlemen gerekir:
- I went to a concert last night.Dün gece bir konsere gittim. (go → went)
- We had a great time there.Orada harika vakit geçirdik. (have → had)
- I saw my old friends too.Eski arkadaşlarımı da gördüm. (see → saw)
- Düzenli fiil → sona -ed ekle (work → worked).
- Düzensiz fiil → yeni biçimi ezberle (go → went, see → saw). Kuralı yok!
1. Sık Kullanılan Düzensiz Fiiller (Common Irregular Verbs)
Bu yedi fiil günlük hayatta çok sık geçer. Yalın (base) ve geçmiş (past) biçimlerini birlikte öğren; her satırı yüksek sesle oku:

- Düzensiz fiillere -ed ekleme: "goed" ✗, "went" ✓.
- Bu 7 biçimi ezberle: went, had, made, saw, came, got, took.
2. Olumsuz (didn't + yalın fiil)
Olumsuz yapmak için didn't (did not) + fiilin yalın hâlini kullanırız. Fiil geçmiş biçime girmez, ilk hâlinde kalır:

- didn't'ten sonra fiil yalın kalır: didn't go, didn't make.
- "I didn't went" ✗ → "I didn't go" ✓ (geçmişi bir kez didn't taşır).
3. Soru (Did ...?)
Soru sormak için başa Did gelir, sonra özne, sonra yalın fiil. Kısa cevap: Yes, I did. / No, I didn't.

- Did'den sonra fiil yalın: Did you see...? ("Did you saw" ✗).
- Did özneye göre değişmez: Did I...? Did she...? Did they...?
4. Zaman İfadeleri (Time Words)
Geçmişi anlatırken şu zaman ifadeleri işaret verir. Bunları görünce past simple kullan:

- last night, last weekend, yesterday, two days ago → hepsi geçmiş.
- Zaman ifadesi cümlenin başında ya da sonunda olabilir.
5. Sık Yapılan Hatalar (Common Mistakes)
Düzensiz fiilleri düzenli gibi kullanmak en sık hatadır. Bu tabloyu bir kontrol listesi gibi kullan:

- Olumlu cümlede düzensiz biçimi kullan (went, saw, made). Olumsuz ve soruda ise didn't / Did + yalın fiil: geçmiş bilgisini bir kez didn't/Did taşır.
6. Birlikte Görelim (Two Friends Chat)
İki genç dünkü günlerini konuşuyor. Koyu yazılan düzensiz biçimlere dikkat et ve iki kez oku:
- — Where did you go yesterday? I didn't see you at school.Dün nereye gittin? Seni okulda görmedim.
- — I went to my cousin's house. We had a big lunch.Kuzenimin evine gittim. Kocaman bir öğle yemeği yedik.
- — Nice! Did you make anything?Güzel! Bir şey yaptınız mı?
- — Yes, we made a chocolate cake together. It took two hours!Evet, birlikte çikolatalı kek yaptık. İki saat sürdü!

- "I goed" ✗ → "I went" ✓ (go düzensiz).
- "Did you saw?" ✗ → "Did you see?" ✓ (Did + yalın).
- "He didn't came" ✗ → "He didn't come" ✓ (didn't + yalın).

Hi! I am Deniz and I am sixteen. Last Saturday was my best friend Aylin's birthday, so we had a really special day in the city centre. I want to tell you about it.
Aylin is my classmate. We are in the same class at school. She is very kind and funny. We are good friends. We eat lunch together every day. We walk to school together too. Aylin likes music and books. I like football and films. Her birthday is important to me. I wanted to make her happy.
Last week I made a plan for her birthday. I did not want a boring day. I asked Aylin, "Are you free on Saturday?" She said yes. So I chose the city centre. There are shops, cafés and a cinema there. It is a good place for a birthday. I was very happy with my plan.
In the morning I got up early and made a small card for her. My mum came into my room and gave me some money for a present. I took the bus to the city centre and met Aylin near the station. She looked very happy.
The bus was full of people. I sat near the window. The sky was blue and the sun was warm. It was a nice morning. I felt a little excited. I had my card and my money in my bag. When I saw Aylin, I said, "Happy birthday!" She smiled a lot. We were ready for a fun day.
First, we went to a big shopping mall. I bought a nice book for Aylin, and she got a new pair of headphones for herself. We saw a lot of people there because it was the weekend. We didn't have lunch at the mall, though; the food was too expensive.
The shopping mall was very big. It had many shops and many people. We looked at clothes, shoes and games. Aylin tried a red jacket, but she did not buy it. I looked at a football shirt. It was nice, but it was not cheap. We walked and talked for a long time. My bag was heavy, but I was happy.
Instead, we went to a small café near the park. We ate pasta and drank fresh orange juice. The waiter brought us a free dessert because it was a birthday. We took a lot of funny photos and put them on the internet.
The café was small and quiet. It had soft chairs and warm lights. We sat near the window again. The pasta was hot and very tasty. The orange juice was sweet and cold. Aylin loved the free dessert. It was a chocolate cake with a small candle. We ate slowly and laughed a lot. The café was a good place for us.
In the afternoon, we met our friends Can and Ela at the cinema. We saw a new comedy film. It was so funny that we couldn't stop laughing. After the film, we didn't go straight home. We sat in the park and talked for an hour.
The cinema was dark and cool. We bought some popcorn before the film. Can and Ela sat next to us. The film was about a funny family. We laughed at almost every scene. After the film, the park was quiet and green. We sat on a bench under a big tree. We talked about the film and about school. Time went very fast.
It was one of the best days of my year. I did many things with my best friend. We went to new places and met good friends. I learned that small things can make a big day. A card, a cake and a film are simple, but they were special with Aylin. I will remember this Saturday for a long time.
At home, I looked at our photos again. We took so many funny pictures. In one photo, Aylin has cake on her nose. In another photo, we jump in the park. I sent the best photos to Aylin. She wrote back, "Thank you for today!" That short message made me smile.
I didn't want the day to end, but the sky got dark and it was time to leave. I said goodbye to everyone and took the last bus home. My parents didn't ask many questions; they just saw my big smile. It was a long day, but it wasn't boring at all. Did you do anything special last weekend? Where did you go?
