Kısa bir video dinle ve izle. (Listen and watch a short video.)
Video çok yakında burada olacak!Yer edatları, bir şeyin nerede olduğunu gösteren küçük kelimelerdir: in (içinde), on (üstünde), under (altında). Edattan sonra hep bir yer/nesne gelir. Tekil özne ile is, çoğul özne ile are kullanırız:
Bu altı edat, bir nesnenin nerede olduğunu anlatır. Bir odayı ya da sınıfı düşün ve her edatı bir örnekle bağla:
| Edat | Anlam | Örnek |
|---|---|---|
| in | içinde | The keys are in the drawer. |
| on | üstünde | The laptop is on the desk. |
| under | altında | My bag is under the chair. |
| next to | yanında | The lamp is next to the bed. |
| behind | arkasında | The garden is behind the house. |
| between | arasında | The café is between two shops. |
Edattan önce fiil gelir. Özne tekilse is, çoğulsa are kullanırız. Önce özneye bak:
| Özne | Fiil | Örnek |
|---|---|---|
| the phone / it (tekil) | is | The phone is on the table. |
| the books / they (çoğul) | are | The books are next to the lamp. |
Bir şeyin yerini sormak için Where is / Where are kullanırız. Cevapta bir yer edatı veririz:
| Soru | Cevap | Türkçe |
|---|---|---|
| Where is my phone? | It's on the desk. | Telefonum nerede? |
| Where are the keys? | They're in the drawer. | Anahtarlar nerede? |
Birine yolu tarif ederken şu kalıpları kullanırız. Şehir/okul bağlamında çok işine yarar:
| Kalıp | Anlam | Örnek |
|---|---|---|
| go straight | düz git | Go straight for two minutes. |
| turn left / right | sola / sağa dön | Turn left at the corner. |
| opposite | karşısında | The library is opposite the school. |
| in front of | önünde | The bus stop is in front of the mall. |
Edatları ve is/are'ı karıştırmak kolaydır. Bu tabloyu bir kontrol listesi gibi kullan:
| Yanlış ✗ | Doğru ✓ | Neden? |
|---|---|---|
| The book is in the table. | The book is on the table. | yüzey üstü → on. |
| The keys is in the bag. | The keys are in the bag. | keys (çoğul) → are. |
| The café is between the bank. | The café is between the bank and the park. | between → iki şey gerekir. |
| My bag is next the chair. | My bag is next to the chair. | next to (to unutma). |
| Turn to left. | Turn left. | turn left/right (to yok). |

Hi! I am Ekin and I am fifteen. My room is small, but I like it. My desk is next to the window, so the light is good. My laptop is on the desk, and my favourite books are on the shelf above it. My school bag is under the chair, and my guitar is behind the door in the corner.
My room has many things. I have a bed, a chair, and a big desk. My bed is next to the wall, and a small lamp is on the table next to my bed. There is a blue rug on the floor. A round clock is on the wall, above my desk. I have a poster of my favourite band on the door. My clothes are in the wardrobe, and my old shoes are under the bed. My cat, Minu, sleeps on my bed every night. She is small and grey. I like my room because it is warm and quiet.
I lose things a lot, so prepositions are useful for me. This morning my phone isn't on the desk. It is under my notebook, next to the pencil case. My keys are never in my pocket; they are always in the top drawer, between my old photos and a box of pens. My headphones are usually on the bed or under a pillow.
Every morning I wake up at seven. I get up and I look for my things. My glasses are on the table, next to a glass of water. My socks are in the drawer, and my school clothes are on the chair. I put my books in my bag. My water bottle is in my bag too, next to my lunchbox. Then I eat breakfast in the kitchen. My mum is at the table, and my little brother is on the sofa. Our dog is under the table. I say goodbye and I go to school.
When I leave home, I turn left and go straight for five minutes. My school is not far from my house. The bakery is on the corner, and it smells amazing. The library is opposite the school, between a small park and a café. The bus stop is in front of the school gate, so many students wait there in the morning.
I like my street. It is not very big, but it is nice. There is a small shop on the corner, next to the bakery. My friend Can lives in the house behind the park. On the way to school, I walk past a green door and a tall tree. A cat often sits on the wall next to the shop. Some birds are in the tree. The park is between my house and the school. In spring, there are many flowers in the park. I like to walk there because it is calm and green.
Inside the school, my classroom is on the second floor, next to the science lab. The canteen is behind the gym, and the teachers' room is between the office and the library. My best friend Deniz sits next to me, and our desks are in front of the board. Our bags are always under our chairs.
I like my school. My favourite subject is art, and the art room is on the first floor, next to the music room. My teacher, Miss Aylin, is very kind. Her desk is in front of the class, next to the window. There is a big map on the wall, behind her chair. At lunch, my friends and I sit in the canteen. Our table is next to the door. Deniz always sits next to me, and we talk about games and music. After school, we walk home together, and we stop at the shop for a snack.
On weekends, I stay at home or I meet my friends. First I clean my room and I put everything in the right place. My books go on the shelf, and my games go in the box under my bed. Sometimes Deniz comes to my house. We play games and we listen to music in my room. We sit on the floor, next to the window. My mum brings us tea and cake on a tray. In the evening, I read a book in bed. My phone is on the small table, and my lamp is next to me. This is my favourite time of the day.
I like my room and my street because everything is in the right place. When my things are where they should be, my day is calm and easy. Where is your favourite place? Is it in your house, or is it somewhere in your town?
