Green Valley School is a big school in Bursa, and the students are always busy. The school opens at eight o'clock, and the first lesson starts at half past eight.
Mert is thirteen years old. He usually gets up at seven, has a quick breakfast and walks to school with his sister. He never takes the bus because the school is near his house. On Mondays he always has a Science lesson at nine o'clock, so he checks his bag for his books before it.
Elif is Mert's best friend. She is very good at sport. She can swim, and she can play basketball too. At lunchtime she often plays basketball in the playground with Cem and Deniz. They are in her class, and they sometimes talk about homework, but they usually talk about games.
Mr. Yıldız is the English teacher. He has lessons every day, so he is always busy. He doesn't have free time on Thursdays because he helps the drama club that day. He sometimes stays at school until five o'clock.
On Fridays, the class has art in the afternoon. The students paint and draw, and then they go home early because the weekend starts. Elif often meets her friends on Friday evenings, but Mert usually stays at home and plays video games.

Green Valley School has a new library, and the students love it. The room is big and full of light because there are eight large windows.
Next to the door, there is a small desk. Behind the desk, there is a friendly librarian, Miss Ayça. She helps everybody find books. Opposite the desk, there are two soft armchairs for reading, and between the armchairs there is a low table with some magazines on it.
There are thirty desks in the main room. Mert's desk is next to a window, and Elif's desk is behind his. Under every desk, there is a small box for pens and pencils. There aren't any old computers in the library — every computer is new and fast.
