Çevre teması hemen her IELTS Writing Task 2 ve Speaking oturumunda karşınıza çıkar; bu sayfadaki collocation'ları ezberlemek yerine kendi cümlelerinizde kullanarak içselleştirin.
The environment theme comes up in almost every IELTS Writing Task 2 and Speaking session; instead of memorising the collocations on this page, internalise them by using them in your own sentences.
Çevre (environment) IELTS'in en sık sorulan temalarından biridir; iklim değişikliğinden geri dönüşüme kadar geniş bir alanı kapsar. Bu sayfada Band 7-9 için doğal collocation'ları, model cümleleri ve sık yapılan hataları bulacaksınız. Daha geniş bakış için genel kelime stratejisi sayfasına, uygulama için model cevaplar sayfasına göz atın.
The environment is one of the most frequently asked themes in IELTS, covering a wide area from climate change to recycling. On this page you will find natural collocations, model sentences and common mistakes for Band 7-9. For a broader overview, see the general vocabulary strategy page, and for practice the model answers page.
Hızlı özet: Çevre temasında yüksek puan, tek tek “zor kelime” değil, doğru collocation demektir. carbon emissions, renewable energy, curb pollution gibi kalıpları öğrenin; “nedenler + çözümler” ve “birey vs. hükümet” eksenlerinde kullanın. En sık hata: pollution ile contamination karışıklığı ve environment yerine “nature” demek.
Quick summary: In the environment theme, a high score means the right collocation, not individual “difficult words”. Learn patterns like carbon emissions, renewable energy, curb pollution; use them along the “causes + solutions” and “individual vs. government” axes. The most common mistake: confusing pollution with contamination, and saying “nature” instead of environment.
In IELTS, the environment is a “universal” theme for both Writing Task 2 and Speaking; it recurs as often as technology and education. The exam does not expect you to be a scientist, but it wants you to produce enough vocabulary and ideas to discuss the topic. Below, see how this theme is asked.
Typical question types in Writing Task 2:
Areas that may come up in Speaking:
Sub-topic map: climate change (climate change), pollution (air/water/plastic), conservation and biodiversity (conservation & biodiversity), renewable energy (renewable energy), waste and recycling (waste & recycling) and individual–government responsibility. Think of these six boxes as an “idea bank”: in each paragraph, draw a concrete example from one sub-topic.
Aşağıdaki tablo, çevre temasının altı alt-konusunu doğal collocation'larla eşleştirir. Kelimeleri tek başına değil, fiil + isim veya sıfat + isim kalıbı halinde ezberleyin — IELTS'te puanı bu kalıplar getirir.

Aşağıdaki cümleler, yukarıdaki collocation'ların gerçek bir Task 2 paragrafında nasıl aktığını gösterir. Kalıpları alın, konuya göre içini değiştirin; birebir ezberlemeyin.
The sentences below show how the collocations above flow in a real Task 2 paragraph. Take the patterns and change the content to suit your topic; don't memorise them word for word.
Speaking'de yazılı akademik kalıpları olduğu gibi kullanırsanız “ezber” gibi durur. Bunun yerine daha konuşkan, doğal ifadeler ve phrasal verb'ler tercih edin. Aşağıdakiler puanı düşürmeden akıcılık katar.
Örnek Part 3 yanıtı (Whose responsibility is it to protect the environment?):
If you use written academic patterns as-is in Speaking, they sound “memorised”. Instead, prefer more conversational, natural expressions and phrasal verbs. The ones below add fluency without lowering your score.
Sample Part 3 answer (Whose responsibility is it to protect the environment?):
Aynı fikri Band 5, 7 ve 9 seviyesinde nasıl söylersiniz? Fark, “daha uzun” değil daha kesin ve doğal olmaktır. Aşağıdaki tabloda basit fikirlerin nasıl yükseldiğini görün.
| Fikir | Band 5 (basit) | Band 7 (net) | Band 9 (doğal & kesin) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fabrikalar havayı kirletir | Factories make the air dirty. | Factories cause a lot of air pollution. | Industrial plants release vast quantities of pollutants into the atmosphere. |
| İnsanlar geri dönüşüm yapmalı | People should recycle more. | People should recycle their household waste. | Households should be encouraged to sort and recycle their waste as a matter of routine. |
| Ağaç kesmek kötü | Cutting trees is bad. | Deforestation harms the environment. | Rampant deforestation strips wildlife of its natural habitats. |
| Güneş enerjisi iyi | Solar power is good. | Solar power is a clean, renewable source. | Harnessing solar power is one of the cleanest ways to meet rising energy demand. |
| Hükümet yardım etmeli | The government must help. | The government should introduce stricter rules. | Policymakers must impose stricter regulations and offer incentives for green technology. |
Genel, belirsiz kelimeler: bad, dirty, help, make, a lot of. Fikir doğru ama “ölçülebilir” ve “akademik” değil.
Kesin fiiller (release, strip, harness, impose) + doğru collocation. Kelime “gösterişli” değil, yerinde.
How do you say the same idea at Band 5, 7 and 9? The difference is not “longer” but more precise and natural. See in the table below how simple ideas are elevated.
| Idea | Band 5 (simple) | Band 7 (clear) | Band 9 (natural & precise) |
General, vague words: bad, dirty, help, make, a lot of. The idea is correct but neither “measurable” nor “academic”.
Precise verbs (release, strip, harness, impose) + the right collocation. The word is not “flashy” but apt.
