Bu final, B1 kurundaki 19 ünitenin tamamını ölçer: Present Perfect karşıtlıkları (been/gone, for/since, Past Simple ile fark); Present Perfect Continuous; Past Perfect; gelecek zaman biçimleri (will / going to / present continuous / present simple); Second Conditional; edilgen çatı (Passive); dolaylı anlatım (Reported Speech); dolaylı sorular ve emirler; olasılık modalları (may/might/could); zorunluluk modalları (must/have to/mustn't/don't have to); gerund ve infinitive; ilgi cümlecikleri (who/which/whose/where, defining/non-defining); used to; soru biçimleri (dolaylı sorular, özne-nesne soruları, question tags); bağlaçlar (although/despite/because of/so...that); belirteçler ve niceleyiciler (determiners & quantifiers); artikellerin ileri kullanımı (articles); phrasal verbs; sıfat ve zarflar (adjectives & adverbs). Speaking hariç dört beceri test edilir. Toplam süre 100 dakikadır ve tek bir sayaçla ilerler — süreyi bölümler arasında kendin yönetirsin.

Kurallar

SINAV KURALLARI

Sayaç 100:00'dan geriye sayar ve sağdaki panelde her zaman görünür. Süre bitince tüm cevapların otomatik toplanır, sınav puanlanır ve girişler kilitlenir.
Sınav başlamadan diğer bölümlere geçemezsin. Başladıktan sonra bölümler arasında serbestçe gezebilirsin.
Çoktan seçmeli sorularda anında geri bildirim yoktur; seçimini "Sınavı Bitir" diyene kadar değiştirebilirsin.

Text 1 · The Long Road to the Lab

Deniz had never thought about becoming an engineer until the summer she turned seventeen. Her uncle, who had worked at a wind farm for twenty years, invited her to spend two weeks at the site. By the end of the first week, she had already decided what she wanted to study. "You have exactly the right kind of mind for this," her uncle told her, and she has remembered those words ever since.

Getting into university was not easy. Deniz applied three times before she was accepted, and during those years she had been working in a small electronics shop to save money. The shop was owned by a retired teacher who taught her how to repair old radios. Deniz says that this experience was more useful than many of her later classes, because it taught her to stay calm whenever something went wrong.

Since she graduated, Deniz has been designing batteries for electric buses. Last year one of her designs was chosen for a large city project, and thousands of people now travel on buses that contain her work. She told a journalist that she still could not quite believe it. "If I had given up after my second rejection," she said, "none of this would have happened."

Text 2 · A Plan for the Old Harbour

The city council has just announced an ambitious plan for the old harbour, which has been closed to the public for almost thirty years. If the plan is approved next month, work will begin in the spring, and the whole area is going to be transformed into a park and a science museum.

Supporters say that the harbour could become the most popular place in the city. "If we don't act now, the old buildings will fall down completely," said one council member. Under the plan, the largest warehouse, which was built in 1890, is going to be repaired rather than knocked down, because many people believe it should be protected. A new bridge will connect the harbour to the city centre, so visitors will be able to walk there in ten minutes.

Not everyone agrees. Some local shop owners are worried that the building work will drive their customers away for two or three years. Others argue that the money would be better spent on schools. A study which was published last week suggested that the project might cost twice as much as the council expects.

The council has promised that local people will be asked for their opinions before any final decision is made. "If residents were against the idea," the mayor said, "we would not go ahead." The first public meeting is going to be held next Tuesday.
