Last Tuesday was an important day at Baytek: the team had a big demo with their most important client, Norvek. The meeting was at two o'clock, but the day did not start well.
At half past eight, Selin was preparing the presentation when her computer suddenly stopped. She restarted it three times, but it didn't work. While she was waiting for the IT team, she wrote her notes on paper. Emre from IT arrived at ten o'clock and fixed the computer in twenty minutes — the problem was a broken update.
Meanwhile, Mark was testing the new app. At eleven o'clock, while he was checking the payment page, he found a serious mistake: the app showed old prices. He didn't panic. He called Selin, and they corrected the numbers together. They didn't have time for lunch, so they ate sandwiches at their desks.
At one o'clock, it started to rain heavily. The client's taxi waited in traffic for forty minutes, so the meeting began at a quarter to three, not at two. When the visitors finally walked in, everyone was smiling — nobody talked about the difficult morning.
The demo went perfectly. The client asked a lot of questions, and Mark answered all of them. At the end, the manager of Norvek said, "This is exactly what we wanted." That evening, the team celebrated at a small restaurant, and Mrs. Aydın paid for everyone.

Baytek is growing fast, and the Istanbul office is now too small for the team. Last month the company looked at two new buildings: one in Levent and one in Kadıköy. Next January, Baytek is going to move to the Kadıköy building. Why?
The Levent building is taller and more modern, and it is closer to the metro — only two minutes on foot. However, it is also the more expensive option: the rent is almost twice as high as in Kadıköy. The offices there are not as large as the offices in Kadıköy, and the meeting rooms are smaller, too.
The Kadıköy building is older, but it is large enough for eighty people, and Baytek has fifty-five employees now. It has the biggest terrace in the area, and the sea view is beautiful. The building is not as close to the metro as the Levent one — the walk takes twelve minutes — so the company is going to start a free shuttle bus from the ferry port.
Mrs. Aydın thinks the move will be easy. "We are going to pack everything in one weekend," she says. "The IT team is going to move the servers on Saturday, and I'm sure the internet will be ready on Monday morning."
She also has a prediction: "Some people will miss the old office at first, but they will love the new terrace in summer. Nobody will want to work inside on sunny days!"
